Services
Thompson Legal Assistance provides legal advice and document production tailored to helping you represent yourself in court. These services are designed to save you money in legal costs because we do not provide full legal representation. Rather the pro se litigant retains full responsibility for his or her case before a court, judge, or other tribunal. This type of servicing is also known as unbundled legal servicing. The following list shows a sample of these services:
1. Legal Research and Advice (we will help you identify legal case authority and help in issue spotting).
2. Document Selection (you tell us what you need done and we will select particular documents of interest to you - you must still make a final decision on whether a particular document should be used).
3. Document Creation (we can create custom documents for you, usually on a flat fee basis for simple matters).
4. Help in Filling out Forms (Iowa provides the pro se litigant with a myriad of self-help forms, some of these forms can be quite complex - we can help you by determining how these forms should be used).
Below is a listing of some of our most common services and pricing (negotiated fees are available for more complex issues).
